Rohrbaugh Cabin
Rohrbaugh Cabin Conditions Assessment
Working through HistoriCorps, EAM Preservation completed a comprehensive architectural documentation project of the historic Rohrbaugh Cabin in West Virginia’s Monongahela National Forest. This early Appalachian log dwelling represents the region’s vernacular building traditions and historic settlement patterns. The project combined detailed field measurements, 3D photogrammetry, architectural drawings, and structural evaluations to document the cabin’s construction methods and existing conditions. Deliverables included 3D models of the cabin and surrounding site, foundation and framing plans, floor plans, elevations, building sections, construction details, and assessments of structural deformation. Together, these materials establish a permanent architectural record to inform future stabilization, preservation, and restoration efforts.
